The Springs Resort & Spa at Arenal - Arenal, Costa Rica

The Springs Resort & Spa at Arenal, Costa RicaWith a spectacular view of Arenal Volcano, natural hot and cold springs, four unique dining experiences, and an impressive full service spa, The Springs Resort & Spa at Arenal promises to overwhelm you in every aspect of quality, service and design. The resort is perched one thousand feet above the Arenal Valley on a mountain ridge just six kilometers north of the active volcano, but outside the government declared danger zone. The higher altitude affords not only incomparable views of the volcano, but also access to the area's famous prevailing breezes. The eighteen freeform, landscaped pools provide guests with great views of the volcano and a multitude of options. With temperatures ranging from 76°F to 103°F and environments that vary from raging waterfalls to tranquil forest experiences, guests can find the perfect pool for their mood and the current weather conditions. Tests of the hot mineral springs reveal an ideal natural combination of high bicarbonate and high chlorides with relatively low sulfur content to provide a safe and clean soaking experience.

Las Lagunas (The Lagoons) is located at the base of the reception building. This area encompasses two acres of lush landscaping and an assortment of multi-level sun and shade terraces surrounding twelve pools. Four of the pools are fed directly by water pumped from the hot mineral springs and the other eight are chlorinated but heated to various temperatures by a heat exchange system.

Perdido Springs (Lost Springs) is a connected system of trails and seven spring-fed pools located within a forest canyon just a short 100-meter walk from the lowest level of the Las Lagunas pools. The trail to these hot and cold springs, called the Heliconia Walk, is lined with 150 different species of flowering heliconias along with beautiful rainforest trees, plants and vines. In the center of these pools is a small jungle bar called Los Perdidos (The Lost Ones) along with a water flume called the Monkey Slide.

Each guest room and villa includes a private terrace with balcony and volcano view, hammocks, rocking chairs, central air-conditioning, luxurious marble bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs and multiple head showers, satellite TV with 37 inch flat screen, surround sound stereo with CD/DVD player and IPOD/MP3/USB connectivity, telephone, wireless internet access, wet bar, safe, minibar, refrigerator and coffeemaker.

The Vista Guest Room accommodates two guests in a king-size bed with a possible rollaway for children.

Accommodates two guests in a king-size bed with a possible rollaway for children.

The Family Guest Suite has the same layout and design as the Vista Guest Room on the first level but has a mezzanine bedroom above with its own private bath. The Master Bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub. There is a king-size bed on the lower master level and one king-size bed or two single beds on the mezzanine level. Accommodates four guests with a possible rollaway for additional children.

Both the master and guest bath have Jacuzzi tubs. In addition, the guest room has an outdoor shower on its private terrace. The Master and Guest Suites share a living room and kitchen with a large refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven. The Villa has separate entrances, heated plunge pool with Jacuzzi jets and cascades, sun deck, hammocks, an outdoor dining area and, of course, an incredible view of the Arenal Volcano. The guest room has a private terrace that is perfect for morning room service as well as afternoon cocktails.
