Day One Sat or Tue: Puerto Montt to Puyuhuapi Hot Springs Resort Transfer from your hotel in Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas to the Puerto Montt Airport. The journey begins with a 45-minute flight from Puerto Montt to Balmaceda in the Patagonia region. Upon arrival, drive along the surprising Austral Road to Puerto Chacabuco. This stretch of unpaved road traverses the wonderful landscape of Coyhaique with its dense forests, waterfalls and mountains. Board the Patagonia Express Catamaran in Puerto Chacabuco, which will take you on a comfortable five-hour trip through the Aysen Fjord, the Puyuhuapi Channel and the Seno Ventisquero to Puyuhuapi Hotel and Hot Springs Resort. Day Two Sun or Wed: At Puyuhuapi There are a number of things to enjoy today! Visit the village of Puerto Puyuhuapi with its characteristic architecture, or walk to a nearby salmon farm. Another hike takes you to the "hanging glacier" at Queulat Park. Afterwards, relax in a revitalizing thermal bath, either indoors or out in the open. (B, L, D)

Day Three Mon or Thu: San Rafael Glacier Depart on your catamaran early to sail through a maze of channels and fjords and reach San Rafael Glacier in the afternoon. Cruise in Zodiaks around small icebergs up to the 20,000-year old glacier. Drink a toast with 20-year old scotch and glacier ice before the catamaran return trip, and arrive in Puerto Chacabuco in the late evening. Lunch and dinner aboard. Overnight in Puerto Chacabuco. Day Four Tue or Fri: Balmaceda to Puerto Montt After breakfast, enjoy the two and a half-hour trip that will take you along the banks of the beautiful Simpson River, through Coyhaique and on to the airport in Balmaceda for the return flight to Puerto Montt. Transfer to your hotel in Puerto Montt. (B)
