Galapagos Yacht M/Y La Pinta
M/Y La Pinta

Metropolitan Touring has acquired a new 63 meter (207 feet) yacht, with capacity for 40 guests, for its Galapagos Islands operation. Galapagos explorers can now enjoy an expedition adventure with comfort and safety aboard the 48-guest yacht M/Y La Pinta. La Pinta offers a relaxed, yet lavish expedition atmosphere, with plush outside cabins, the highest standards of service, international cuisine, plus celebrated Ecuadorian dishes, and all the amenities that make the Galapagos Expedition a trip of a lifetime.

Its Name

La Pinta is the Spanish name of Abingdon Island in the northwest of the Galapagos Archipelago – where the famous Lonesome George giant tortoise comes from. It is also the name of one of the caravels in which Christopher Columbus sailed on his trip to America: Pinta, Niña and Santa Maria.

Islands Visited

Yacht La Pinta operates Friday to Friday expeditions, starting and ending in Baltra. Departures include the Galapagos’ main highlights: Bartolome | Fernandina | Isabela | Floreana | Española | Santa Cruz & the Charles Darwin Research Station | James | Rábida | North Seymour.

Shaping Our Future Today

Metropolitan offers and expertly handles an environmentally friendly operation in the Galapagos National Park and is the pioneer of reliable and high quality tourism in Ecuador. The renovation of Yacht La Pinta has followed strict international standards in relation to safety at sea and the understanding of the unique environment of the archipelago, to support its conservation, taking all the precautions not to alter the integrity of the ecosystems.
