Put on your walking shoes for an exciting hike. The hike will begin on the active side of Arenal Volcano and take you through forest and over recent lava flows to a regenerating area of destruction.  The green of the forest is located on the eastern side of the volcano; other smaller green places can be seen on the north and south sides.
There are two hikes offered: The first takes three and a half hours and comes within five hundred meters of the lava flow; the other takes one and a half hours and brings you within a mile of the volcano. These are available only when conditions permit. The tour can be booked with or without dinner and a refreshing evening at Tabacon Hot Springs Resort.

Recommended Clothing/Gear: Pants, hiking shoes, camera, binoculars, raincoat and repellent.
