Day by Day Itinerary

Day One: Arrive Lima Start your adventure into the Land of the Incas. Transfer to the deluxe Casa Andina Private Collection.
Plaza de Armas, LimaDay Two: In Lima Familiarize yourself with Lima on this half-day tour of the colonial highlights, followed by lunch and a visit to the Archaeological Museum for a chronological presentation of the many civilizations that flourished in Peru. Displays include important collections from the Chavin, Mochica, Chimu, and Nazca cultures. You will then be the guests for lunch at the Orient Express Miraflores Park Hotel, followed by a site inspection. Evening at leisure and dinner on your own. (B, L).

Day Three: Lima/Cuzco/Urubamba Valley
An hour flight will transfer you to Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, at an altitude of 11,300 feet. Sacred Valley of the Incas, Urubamba Valley, PeruYou will be met upon arrival to commence your tour into the scenic Urubamba Valley. The valley, also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas, is at a much more comfortable altitude of 8,500 feet, and you will immediately feel the difference. If you arrive Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, you will stop at Pisac for a colorful Indian market. Stalls overflow with weavings, handicrafts and pottery, enticing everyone to bargain! Later, climb the ruins at Ollantaitambo, another sacred site which the Incas fiercely defended from the Spaniards. Overnight at the deluxe Casa Andina Private Collection. (B, L)

Day Four: Urubamba Valley to Machu Picchu
Board the afternoon Orient Express VistaDome Train for Machu Picchu.Morning transfer to Ollantaitambo to board the Orient Express VistaDome Train (left) for Machu Picchu, where you will have a guided walking tour of the ruins, including lunch and a site inspection at the Orient Express Sanctuary Lodge. You are among the lucky few who will spend the night here and will have a few more hours to explore the site. Day Five: Machu Picchu to Cuzco
This morning you will visit some of the other hotels in Aguas Claientes, including lunch at the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel. In the afternoon you will return by train to Cuzco, and transfer to your hotel in Cuzco, the deluxe Casa Andina Private Collection. (B, L)

Day Six: In Cuzco After breakfast you will tour Cuzco, including the recently restored Temple of Tambo MackayCathedral and the Inca Sun Temple, Koricancha. Then ascend into the hills overlooking Cuzco to visit the massive fortress of Sacsayhuaman. You'll wonder how the Incas built this massive structure. Nearby, visit K'kenko, sacred Pucapucara and the temple of Tambo Machay (left). In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit a couple of hotels, followed bya farewell dinner and a folklore show (below). (B, D)Peruvian Folklore Dancers

Day Seven: Cuzco to Lima Morning return flight to Lima and transfer to Lima. Here you will have the opportunity for some last minute shopping and sightseeing before your return transfer to the airport to have dinner at the new Ramada Hotel Costa del Sol at the airport. After diner you will proceed to the airline ticket counter to check in for your flight home. (B, D)

Cancellations:
•All cancellations must be received in writing
•Cancellations at any time will be subject to a $300 per person cancellation penalty
•Cancellations 46-60 days prior to your departure date will be subject to a 50% cancellation penalty
•Cancellations 45 days or less prior to your departure date will be subject to 100% cancellation penalty.
